About K Chase Artist

Kathy was born in Yorkshire, England. She has called New Zealand home for the last few decades and lives, with her husband and twin daughters in Waiuku, a small rural town South of Auckland. A self taught watercolour and ink pen artist, she loves botanicals and the natural world. There is also on a occasional nod to childhood nostalgia in her work.

Starting with wedding flower commissions, she moved onto selling art prints and has now combined a love of teaching, with her creative work. Her botanical and nature based workshops are designed to be fun and informative, attracting both creatives and avid gardeners. Her workshops have been held around the Franklin area from art centres, to fundraising events and lavender farms.

"There's no greater compliment, than when a student tells me they have taken their watercolours out from a dusty cupboard"

A late bloomer, Kathy picked up her paintbrush at the age of 40. Rediscovering a passion for art that had layed dormant since her school days.

"It's never too late to learn something new"

Kathy, when not holding a paintbrush runs a complementary health clinic in Waiuku. She provides gentle hands on therapies, specialising in the management of persistent pain, inflexibility and restrictions from scar tissue. You can find out more about her wellbeing services at www.kathychase.com.
